London is an undeniably great city, and thankfully, it’s incredibly easy to get around! If you are travelling in to London from other parts of the country, you will mostly likely be getting a train in to Euston station. This is incredibly convenient as Euston station is only a 10 minute walk from London’s West End, and it is also connected to London’s famous underground system for those who don’t want to walk. If you plan to explore the city, a day pass for the Underground can be very useful. (Try to avoid peak times though; during the daily commute it can get very busy!).

Euston

Once arriving at Euston, you can walk to the top of Tottenham court road which will put you at the end of Oxford Street, London’s world famous shopping district. From cheap high street bargains to expensive designer boutiques, this popular tourist destination caters to everyone.  It can get very busy, especially close to Christmas, but the choice is unparalleled. Highlights include Selfridges for clothing and Hamleys for toys. Harrods is also a must for first time visitors to London.

Soho

Soho is also a 2 minute walk from the top of Tottenham court road. This is excellent for food lovers; there is a variety of restaurants in a number of styles. There are also numerous bars and pubs for those travelling to London for the night life. Make sure to check out Soho square if the sun is shining.

Covent Garden

Soho is connected to Covent Garden; another famous shopping district in London. Popular with both tourists and locals, Covent Garden is full of boutiques, high street shops, and quaint restaurants and cafes. There are also many street entertainers and market stalls. This is a great destination for people who’d like to capture a taste of London, without tackling the crowded shopping hotspots like Oxford Street.

China Town

China Town lies on the far side of Covent Garden. Still a walking distance from Euston Station, London’s China Town offers extremely authentic Chinese cuisine at very affordable prices. Highlights include Four Seasons for Chinese food, and Misato for Japanese food.

London is an expansive city; this article only covers the hot spots which are walkable from Euston station. If you’d like to explore more, take the underground around Zone one and explore the area around the Thames. Both North Bank and South Bank are full of sights and attractions for visitors to the city.
